Buying local more important than ever
As I watch the recent egg recall unfold, I'm struck not by how unusual food recalls are, but rather by how commonplace and every day they are. One day it's eggs, the next day ground beef and the next day spinach. Pick your pathogen- E.coli, salmonella, listeria, etc.

Board listened to sidewalk concerns

They listened to us and took into account the concerns and hardships we are all facing.

Another perspective on dispute
Taxpayers who were "steamed about sidewalks" (Poynette Press, Scott De Laruelle, July 27, 2010) should also be steamed about a library board member taking a village board member "to task for taking 'second-hand information as fact'" (July 27, 2010). Why would an administrator who supported removing newspapers from the school IMC be on a library board?
