Buying local more important than ever
As I watch the recent egg recall unfold, I'm struck not by how unusual food recalls are, but rather by how commonplace and every day they are. One day it's eggs, the next day ground beef and the next day spinach. Pick your pathogen- E.coli, salmonella, listeria, etc. Tuesday, September 07, 2010

Board listened to sidewalk concerns
We would like to thank Mr. (Daniel) Guild, village administrator, Mr. (Steve) Tomlinson, village president, as well as the board of trustees who reconsidered the resolution to put in sidewalk along Wilson Street. They listened to us and took into account the concerns and hardships we are all facing. Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Another perspective on dispute
Taxpayers who were "steamed about sidewalks" (Poynette Press, Scott De Laruelle, July 27, 2010) should also be steamed about a library board member taking a village board member "to task for taking 'second-hand information as fact'" (July 27, 2010). Why would an administrator who supported removing newspapers from the school IMC be on a library board? Tuesday, August 10, 2010
